Biography

Nicole Kirpalani, Ph.D., joined the Greehey School of Business in 2023 and has served as chair of the Department of Management and Marketing since 2024. Kirpalani earned a Ph.D. in Business (Marketing) from the City University of New York, where she was a doctoral fellowship recipient. She also holds a Master of Science in Secondary Education (Business Education) and a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Hofstra University. She has been teaching in higher education since 2000. Her higher education career followed several years of global industry experience in marketing and finance.

Since joining St. Mary’s University, Kirpalani has taught undergraduate courses such as Principles of Marketing, Principles of Business II, Branding, Consumer Behavior, and Organizational Behavior. Kirpalani is well versed in hybrid, virtual, and online teaching formats and holds a Teaching Online Certificate from Quality Matters. She has presented and published numerous articles on topics such as consumer co-creation in the service context, consumer-brand relationships, and sustainability in the fashion industry. She has also focused on teaching innovations and technology use in the classroom as part of her research. Her work was published in Psychology and Marketing, the Journal of Marketing Management, and Marketing Education Review, among others.
