Rattlers Sweep Mesa State

St. Mary’s used strong pitching performances by two freshman, and hitting from seniors to complete a two-game sweep of Mesa State on Tuesday at St. Mary’s.
In the first game of the double header, freshman Malissa Magee tossed a two-hit complete game to get the win 7-1. Lindsay Barnes slapped a three-run double in the first to give the Rattlers a 3-0 lead. Liz Beyer then hit her 10th home run of the season in the fifth inning as the Rattlers crusied.
Magee, the Heartland Conference pitcher of the week, improved her record to 9-1.
In the second game, Brittany Brown gave up only two runs on two hits as the Rattlers won 10-2.
Teri Moreno went 2 for 3 and drove in 3 runs, while Tiffani Craft went 3 for 3 and drove in 2 runs.
The wins improve the Rattlers’ record to 23-4 overall.
