Roni Garcia, a senior third baseman from San Antonio Taft High School, has been named Heartland Conference Softball Hitter Of The Week for the second straight week. Brittany Brown, a freshman from Azle, Texas picked up co-pitcher of the week honors from the conference.

For the week of Feb. 21-27, Garcia led the Rattlers to a sweep of defending national champion Angelo State 8-0 and 9-1. She hit .833 for the week, scoring 2 runs, driving in 5 and hitting one home run.

Brown pitched a complete game one hitter against Angelo State. The only hit she gave up was a hard ground ball that went off her foot.
