The fall semester may be ending soon, but the St. Mary’s basketball teams have plenty of work to do before they can take a Christmas vacation. Both teams each have four games on their schedule before they can take a short break.
The Rattler women are on the road this weekend, December 13-14, at the Comfort Inn Classic in Fargo, ND. St. Mary’s will play host North Dakota State on Friday and Minnesota State-Moorhead on Saturday. On the following weekend, December 19-20, the Rattlers will play host to the St. Mary’s Classic. St. Mary’s plays Southeastern Oklahoma State on Thursday, Dec. 19, and Tarleton State on Friday, Dec. 20. Incarnate Word will also compete at the St. Mary’s Classic, playing Tarleton State on Thursday and Southweastern Oklahoma State on Friday. The Rattlers are ranked 21st in the latest USA Today/ESPN/WBCA Division II Women’s Basketball Poll.
The Rattler men close out the fall semester with three home games and a road game. Buddy’s Boys host Oklahoma’s Northeastern State University on Saturday, Dec. 14 in a warm-up for the River City Shootout, Dec. 16-17, featuring St. Mary’s, Pittsburg State, Missouri Western and Seattle Pacific. St. Mary’s plays Pittsburg State on Monday, Dec. 16, and Missouri Western on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Seattle Pacfic takes on Missouri Western and Pittsburg State on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. St. Mary’s closes out the fall schedule on the road at Tarleton State in Stephenville on Dec. 19.
Both teams return to action after a short Christmas break on Dec. 30. The Rattler men are at home versus Shippensburg University and the Rattler women take to the road to meet Grambling State in Grambling, La.
