Heavy rains in San Antonio have forced delays in the D-II Softball South Central Regional and the Heartland Conference Baseball Tournaments. Weather and field conditions will determine when both tournaments resume
The South Central Regional resumed Friday evening at 8:30 after a 5-1/2 rain delay in the middle of Game Six between UC-Colorado Springs and Texas Woman’s. UC-CS defeated TWU 2-1 to remain alive in the tournament. Game Seven, between St. Mary’s and Angleo State, was moved back to 11:00 p.m. Friday night and Game Eight, pairing UC-CS and Tarleton State was moved to Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m.
Game One of the baseball conference tournament was halted in the top of the eighth with Rockhurst leading the Univ. of the Incarnate Word 9-7. The game will resume begining at 11 a.m. Saturday morning at V.J. Keefe Memorial Stadium. Game Two, between the host St. Mary’s University and Lincoln University, will follow 30 minutes after the completion of Game One. The rest of the baseball tournament will continue from there.
