Join St. Mary’s University as it transforms campus into a snowy winter wonderland. The crowd will be led in song by carolers before the Nativity scene and celebrate the lighting of the Christmas tree.

What: St. Mary’s University’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and Alumni Christmas Social, to include:

  • Caroling around the Nativity scene and Christmas tree
  • Musical performances by St. Mary’s students
  • About 35,000 pounds of shaved-ice snow creating a children’s wonderland
  • Pictures with Santa

When: Wednesday, Dec. 4, from 7 to 8 p.m.; followed by the Alumni Christmas Social from 8 to 9 p.m.
Where: Event takes place at Alkek Plaza and later moves to Pecan Grove. Media may park in Lot V (off Camino Santa Maria) or Lot D (off NW 36th Street)

More Information: At 8 p.m., guests are invited to Pecan Grove, where about four inches of machine-made snow will be on the ground to play in during the alumni social.

The Alumni Association will collect unwrapped, new toys from guests to support the St. Mary’s University Miracle on 36th Street toy drive.
