Biography

Solomon Wang, Ph.D., is an accomplished academic and finance professional with a robust background in research and teaching practice. Currently serving as an Associate Professor of Finance at St. Mary’s University since August 2024, Wang brings extensive experience and a wealth of knowledge to his role.

Wang’s professional interests include Initial Public Offerings (IPO), mergers and acquisitions (M&A), financial literacy, and behavioral finance. His research often explores the intersection of finance with broader economic and technological trends, such as machine learning, digitalization, corporate social responsibility, and green innovation. His work has been published in prestigious journals, including the Journal of Banking and Finance, the European Journal of Financethe International Review of Financial Analysis, and the Review of Behavioral Finance.

Wang’s academic journey began with a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Central Florida, following a Master of Science in Applied Economics from the University of North Dakota. Before his current position, Wang taught at Angelo State University and Saint Xavier University for many years. His teaching portfolio is extensive, covering a range of courses across different educational levels. At the undergraduate level, he teaches Investments, Portfolio Management, International Finance, Advanced Corporate Finance, and Financial Models. At the MBA level, he instructs in managerial finance and risk management.
