Live Oak, Texas – Ariel Ornelas led the St. Mary’s University cross country team to a respectable ninth-place finish at Saturday’s Incarnate Word Cross Country Invitational.

Ornelas, a sophomore from Arlington, Texas, finished 27th with a time of 21 minutes, 59.2 seconds.

Raquel Quintero (Fr., Corpus Christi, Texas) finished a spot behind Ornelas, crossing in 22:06.7.

Trinity University won the event, which drew 12 teams from across the state.
