The St. Mary’s women’s golf team capped an extraordinary season with a sixth-place finish in the NCAA Div. II National Championships at the El Campeon Course at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. In only the third year of the team’s existance the Rattler women spent most of the season ranked in Golfstat.com’s statistical rankings. The team finished second in the Div. II West Regional with Rattler captain Jillian Wyne, a senior from Calgary, Alberta, finishing first.

The Rattlers finished the national championship with a four-round total of 167-over 1335, 98 shots behind the national champion Rollins College squad. Rollins was the run-away winner of the tournament shooting the low round all four days. St. Mary’s freshman Kate Meyer finished tied for 19th at 39-over, with Nicole Wyne tied for 22nd 41-over and Jillian Wyne tied for 25th at 42-over and Catherine Carvajal tied for 30th at 46-over. Rattler Chelsea Siler, who like the Wyne sisters is also from Calgary, finished 45th at 72 over.
