After losing three of four games during the previous week the Rattler baseball team (29-9) fell from 10th to 17th in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA D-II national poll released on April 7. St. Mary’s was tied for 13th in the March 24 poll. The Rattlers lost three of four games to arch-rival Incarnate Word this past weekend, winning the first game but losing the next three.
The Rattler softball team (35-9), the defending national champions, are 10th in the NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll released on April 9. St. Mary’s were ranked first in the NFCA preseason poll and dropped to eighth in the first regular season poll and stayed at eighth in the second poll. The Rattlers are rated second in the most-recent D-II South Central Regional poll, behind the Angelo State Wildcats who are ranked second in the nation. St. Mary’s split a doubleheader with Incarnate Word last week.
